The 63.2km long easy to intermediate cross-country trail covers the whole of Salzburger Sportworld.
The Tauern cross-country ski trail has easy as well intermediate sections, is gently rolling, diverse and is suitable for every fitness level and style. What make this trail truly special is that is joins the 6 towns in the region, with a start point at each of these towns. Tauern cross-country ski trail can be done in manageble chucks or our fitter guests can take on the whole route. It also joins on to the local trails and passes huts open for refreshments. From the Tauern cross-country ski trail you can link to every trail in Altenmarkt making it easy to create a variety of circular tours. For instance taking the trail up by Hacklbauer farm to maximise your views over Altenmarkt and Dachstein or cruising around in the valley meadows past the Therme Amade.

The central entry point for the entire Tauern trail is in Altenmarkt (Römerstraße, near the school - Rosnerfeld). It leads in the direction of Radstadt, past the "Königslehen" cable car with a slight ascent to the wildlife park in Untertauern. From there it goes back towards Radstadt (Weißenhof) along the Enns via Altenmarkt (easy trail) to Eben. The Tauernloipe then leads to Reitdorf via Höch Castle to Wagrain and from there to Flachau and then back to Altenmarkt to the main entrance, past the Therme Amadé.
