The cross-valley panoramic hike leads over the impressive Bärenstaffl mountain peak back to the Flachautal valley.

Die Wanderung führt über einen besonders schönen und ruhigen Almboden mit einer bunten Blumenpracht zum Gipfel Bärenstaffl. Hier kann man die Ruhe und die Aussicht auf die Bergwelt so richtig genießen. Für wirklich erfahrene Bergwanderer mit guter Trittsicherheit empfiehlt sich auch ein Abstecher zum Gipfel der Steinfeldspitze (2344 m).

Einkehrmöglichkeit: Hafeichtenalm - Scharfetthütte (geöffnet von Do - So)

Zauchensee - slightly ascending asphalt road (2.2 km) to the Oberzauchenseealm (path Nr. 85) - continue on track Nr. 84 to Stubhöhe - turn right towards Bärenstaffl and Steinfeldspitze (path Nr. 73) - to the summit "Bärenstaffl" - walk back to the crossroads and then turn left towards Hafeichtscharte - path Nr. 26 - Scharfetthütte - downhill to the stop Kaltensteinalm Flachauwinkl

Variants:

  • Tauernkarleitenalm - turn left at Stubhöhe
  • Steinfeldspitze (2344 m) - at the fork Bärenstaffl straight on on path Nr. 73 - ATTENTION: only for very experienced mountain hikers, step security and free from giddiness is absolutly necessary!
Step security is necessary on the way to the peak.

Planning & preparation: Precise tour planning is recommended before every mountain tour. Information from local experts such as mountain guides or hut keepers as well as hiking maps will help you.

Mountain rescue number: The telephone number 140 is the emergency number for alpine accidents in Austria.

The basic equipment of a hiker includes:

o sturdy, high shoes with a grippy sole

o suitable mountain clothing

o enough to drink

o snacks for in-between

o sunglasses, sunscreen or rain protection if necessary

o mobile phone

o walking sticks

o First aid kit
