Valuable tips for travelling with a dog
To ensure that your animal companion has as much fun on holiday as you do, good preparation is essential. From dog bowls to pet passes - here you'll find everything you need to know for a relaxed holiday with your dog in the mountains.
Walking & hiking with dogs - summer and winter
In Flachau, not only people but also dogs feel at home - in the blooming mountain summer as well as in the snowy winter. Here you can enjoy nature together, be out and about and simply spend time outdoors. There are a few simple rules to ensure that everyone gets on well together. Please also note our year-round rules of behaviour for hiking with dogs.

All year round
To protect your dog, wild and grazing animals and other guests, a lead is compulsory all year round - on paths, mountain pastures and in the village.
Bags for poo
Please always dispose of dog faeces - it can be harmful to the health of cows if they ingest contaminated grass or food - disposal stations and waste bins are available along many paths. This keeps our hiking trails clean, nature protected and other guests can enjoy their walk undisturbed.

Summer
Keep your distance, close gates carefully and do not feed animals. In this way, you can ensure safe and relaxed coexistence on the mountain pastures.
Stay on marked paths
Stay on the signposted paths - this protects nature and ensures that you and your dog are safe when out and about.
Keep an eye on the weather & terrain
Plan your tour well and keep an eye on the weather. Heat, thunderstorms or steep sections can quickly become strenuous - for you and your dog.

Winter
You are allowed to use many winter hiking trails with your dog - with the exception of areas with no-dog signs, such as across fields.
Dogs are not allowed on the cross-country ski trails
Dogs are not permitted on the cross-country ski trails. There is one exception between Starjet and Spacejet - dogs are allowed there.
Please note: Out of respect for the landowners, the obligation to keep dogs on leads and the ban on dogs on the cross-country ski trails is regularly checked.
No hiking on ski slopes
Walking or touring along the pistes is not permitted with dogs - for your own safety.
