Unless the accommodation providers have their own booking and cancellation conditions, the following terms and conditions of the Austrian Hotel Industry apply:

Up to three months before the agreed date of arrival of the guest at the latest, the accommodation contract can be cancelled by both contracting parties (guest and accommodation provider) by unilateral declaration without payment of a cancellation fee.

Thereafter, cancellation by unilateral declaration by the contracting party is only possible subject to payment of the following cancellation fees:

• up to 1 month before the date of arrival 40% of the total package price
• up to 1 week before the day of arrival 70% of the total package price
• in the last week before the day of arrival 90% of the package price

Better safe than sorry - by taking out travel cancellation insurance, you can protect yourself just in case.

Current rate:
€2.45 per person per night (aged 15 and over) – overnight tax
€0.50 per person per night (aged 15 and over) – mobility tax

NEW from 1 June 2026:
€3.50 per person per night (aged 15 and over) – overnight tax
€0.50 per person per night (aged 15 and over) – mobility tax

From 1 May 2027:
€3.50 per person per night (aged 15 and over) – Accommodation tax
€1.10 per person per night (aged 15 and over) – Mobility tax

The following groups of people, amongst others, are exempt from paying the general overnight tax:

• Persons up to the age of 15
• People staying in the municipal area for more than two weeks for work purposes. For stays of up to two months, these people must be registered via the registration system; for longer stays, registration with the local council is required
• Persons staying in the municipal area for the purposes of school education.
• Persons visiting their spouses or registered partners, direct relatives, siblings or relatives by marriage of the same degree and staying overnight with them.
• People with disabilities, where the degree of disability is at least 50%, and one accompanying person.

Should the guest nevertheless find a cheaper offer on the internet on an online booking portal on the same day, the difference will be refunded by the accommodation provider on arrival.
