The poet's message: "find inspiration and be true to yourself"
Saukarfunktel (2028 m) is perfect for panoramic hikes. The mountain is the poet on the 7-peaks trail, encouraging hikers to recognise and use their own talents.
Saukarfunktel peak is a small, rocky pyramid shape with magnificent views, and owes its name to the ferruginous rock: when lightning strikes, the rock sparks ("funken" in German). The trip up Saukarfunktel starts with a ride on the lift straight from the centre of Flachau up to 1730 metres. From here, you first hike up to Grießenkareck (1991 m), which is visible from miles away. A pleasant panoramic trail leads from this summit to your final destination. All around the summit of Saukarfunktel are huge boulders – ideal for a break or picnic.
