Zauchensee - slightly ascending asphalt road (2.2 km) to the Oberzauchenseealm (path Nr. 85) - continue on track Nr. 84 to Stubhöhe - turn right towards Bärenstaffl and Steinfeldspitze (path Nr. 73) - to the summit "Bärenstaffl" - walk back to the crossroads and then turn left towards Hafeichtscharte - path Nr. 26 - Scharfetthütte - downhill to the stop Kaltensteinalm Flachauwinkl
Variants:
- Tauernkarleitenalm - turn left at Stubhöhe
- Steinfeldspitze (2344 m) - at the fork Bärenstaffl straight on on path Nr. 73 - ATTENTION: only for very experienced mountain hikers, step security and free from giddiness is absolutly necessary!

The basic equipment of a hiker includes:
o sturdy, high shoes with a grippy sole
o suitable mountain clothing

o snacks for in-between
o sunglasses, sunscreen or rain protection if necessary

o walking sticks
