Classic mountain bike warm-up tour via Altenmarkt to Zauchensee.
Very often you can hear Altenmarkt and Zauchensee in one breath. And it is precisely these two places that our MTB route connects. The route is easily explained: you always ride in a south-southeast direction into the Zauchbach Valley. Alternating between asphalt and gravel, except for a short stretch after Gasthof Neuhäusl, where you ride along Zauchenseestraße, you are always away from traffic. Mostly shady in the woods, always close to the Zauchbach stream, we ride up a gentle gradient towards Zauchensee. Only the last two hairpin bends are a little steeper and a little rougher from the ground, otherwise the almost 600 metre difference in altitude is relatively easy to master. You leave the forest directly at the idyllic lake that gives the tour its name and get a clear view of the wonderful mountain panorama of Zauchensee, the destination of our tour.
